Exhibition “Albert Bakun. Complex palette”
Where: St. Petersburg, Erarta

The artist Albert Bakun devoted his life to studying the works of Western European masters. In his works, made in the genre of analytical painting, Bakun tries to restore the “lost pictorial alphabet”. As if combining the functions of a viewer, creator and interpreter, the artist complements the classical plots of the “original” canvases. “The artist, the picture, the viewer: at the moment of their meeting, a dialogue takes place between them. This dialogue is triggered when both the artist and the viewer speak a language understandable to both. I try to preserve this language, make it modern and pass it on to the next generations,” says Albert Bakun.

The works are considered revolutionary, since Bach radically changed the “relationship” between the two instruments: the clavier ceased to be an accompanying instrument, and therefore some competition appeared between it and the violin.
