At the Seaside Rehabilitation Center for Marine Mammals “Seal” they are trying to save three malnourished seal pups. The head of the organization, Laura Beloivan, told RIA Novosti about this.
Cubs were found in different places of Vladivostok. Divers removed one of the seals from a loose ice floe in Diomede Bay, the second was found on the island, and the third in Patroclus Bay.

According to the head of the center, the current pulls apart the ice fields, and the cubs are carried far away from their parents. They cannot survive on their own, in the conditions of a rehabilitation center they have a chance.
The weight of one found cub does not exceed 11 kilograms, while the norm is about 30. As Beloivan noted, emaciated seals suffer from dehydration and impaired thermoregulation. This can often lead to pneumonia. Now the found babies are cared for by specialists of the center.
