Woman started getting tattoos at 16
Tattoo artist Apo Wang-Od is featured in the April issue of Philippine Vogue, CNN Philippines reports. Users are already calling the woman the oldest model on the cover of the magazine.
Officially, this title in the Guinness Book of Records still belongs to the British actress Judi Dench. She posed for Vogue at the age of 85.
It is noteworthy that Apo Wang-Od is also the oldest tattoo artist in the world. Her father taught her how to fill tattoos using the batok technique. She has been doing this since the age of 16. In her sessions, a woman uses a mixture of charcoal and water as an ink and draws a design on the skin with a stick with a sharp spike on the end. Apo Wang-Od draws inspiration for his work from nature and geometric shapes.
